What RightClickOCR Does
RightClickOCR is a macOS utility that makes scanned PDFs searchable by adding an invisible text layer. You right-click PDF files in Finder, and the app uses Apple’s Vision framework to recognize text on each page, then writes a new searchable copy of the PDF beside the original.
Data Collection
RightClickOCR collects no data. We do not:
- Send any file contents, OCR results, or metadata to our servers or any external service
- Collect analytics, usage data, or telemetry
- Require user accounts, logins, or any personal information
- Track your activity or identify you in any way
- Use cookies, beacons, or other tracking technologies
All OCR processing happens entirely on your Mac using Apple’s Vision framework. Your files remain on your device at all times.
Folder Access
RightClickOCR accesses only the folders you explicitly grant it access to. This is done through macOS’s security-scoped bookmark system. When you choose a folder in the app, we request permission from your system. These bookmarks are stored locally on your Mac and are never transmitted, shared, or uploaded anywhere.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date above. Continued use of RightClickOCR after changes means you accept the updated policy.
